Position: Legal Drafting Assistant (Off-site / Remote-friendly)
Location: Remote / Work-from-Home (off-site)
Engagement: Assist in drafting, reviewing, and editing legal documents for a diverse client base
Key Responsibilities
The Legal Drafting Assistant will be responsible for:
Drafting, reviewing, and editing various legal documents including service agreements, NDAs, IPR assignment agreements, commercial contracts, and other client-specific documents
Conducting legal research on relevant statutory provisions, case law, and regulatory norms to ensure draft compliance with applicable laws and jurisprudence
Collaborating with the team to develop customised legal solutions for clients based on their business requirements
Maintaining accurate records of legal drafts, versions, communications, and client files — both digital and organized for easy retrieval
Supporting the preparation of client-specific legal packages: packaging multiple documents, templates, and compliance checklists as required
Required Qualifications & Skills
The ideal candidate should have:
Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent legal education
Strong legal research, contract-law knowledge, and drafting skills — comfortable with agreements, NDAs, IPR documents, and commercial contracts
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading abilities — with keen attention to detail and clarity
Good analytical and critical-thinking skills, with ability to interpret legal clauses and regulatory requirements
Effective communication and collaboration skills — to coordinate with team members and clients where needed
Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive legal information
Familiarity with legal documentation management tools or comfort with standard office tools (Word, Excel, Google Docs / cloud storage)
Knowledge of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA) is a strong plus, given The Legal Draft’s business focus.
