About the Job:
Nilaya Legal is looking to bring on an Associate (1–3 years PQE) to join its Corporate & Commercial and Venture Capital practice in Mumbai. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with fast-moving businesses and ambitious founders, and wants to be more than just a transactional lawyer—someone who understands the business context and helps enable growth. The successful candidate will work on VC investments, M&A, JV transactions, and complex strategic matters in a collaborative, fun, and intellectually sharp environment.

Eligibility:

• 1 to 3 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
• Exposure to VC investments, M&A, or joint venture transactions.
• Good understanding of corporate laws, FEMA, RBI regulations, and data privacy.
• Some exposure to startups or venture-backed companies is preferred.
• Ability to understand business context and work with fast-moving founders and businesses.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Working on venture capital investments, M&A transactions, and joint ventures.
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating transaction documents and commercial contracts.
• Advising clients on corporate laws, FEMA, RBI regulations, and data privacy matters.
• Supporting founders and businesses from early fundraising conversations to complex strategic transactions.
• Collaborating with a specialized team in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.

Duration:
Full-time, permanent position.
